ABOUT HOLTFACTION
Holtfaction is an alternative rock duo consisting of Veda Viral and Evan Love Riot. Formed in 2020, the duo made their inaugural live performance at Planet Nova in 2022. With more than thirty years of combined experience in music, Holtfaction has developed a distinctive sound listeners describe as “earth-shattering” raw, powerful, emotionally charged, and unapologetically independent.
Evan Love Riot (born Mark Evan Holt) hails from Vienna, Virginia, USA, and Veda Viral (Born Teresa Krebbs) hails from Stafford, Virginia, USA. Together, they bring decades of creative experience, live performance, and dedication to their craft.
Both Evan and Veda have spent more than 20 years working in the cosmetology industry. As they put it:
“Music is our life. Cosmetology is our side project and down-time income.”
For Evan, the road to Holtfaction has also been a deeply personal journey of accountability, rehabilitation, and transformation. Over the past decade, he has devoted himself to meaningful personal reform, working extensively with therapists, the community and psychiatrists confronting the challenges of his past rather than running from them. That work has been an ongoing commitment to personal responsibility, growth, and becoming a better person, partner, father, artist, and member of his community.
This history has become part of the perspective behind Holtfaction’s music. The band's work is rooted in the belief that people are capable of change, that the past does not have to define the future, and that creativity can be a powerful part of rebuilding one's life.
Today, Holtfaction channels that experience into music that is direct, honest, and uncompromising. Their goal is not simply to perform songs, but to create something meaningful from the experiences that shaped them.
Holtfaction is a fully insured independent act and is currently seeking label partnerships, media syndication, booking opportunities, and professional collaborators who believe in the power of original alternative rock and the people behind it.
Evan Love Riot and Veda Viral met at a hair convention in 2019.
After Serving his Sentence:
Evan put himself through cosmetology School, graduated in 2019 and is a licensed barber to this day.
Evan Volunteers his time with different organizations cutting hair for the homeless and disabled.
Evan regularly volunteers as a face painter for the American foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Evan's rights were fully restored by the governor of Virginia in 2022.
After their first son passed, Veda and Evan welcomed their "rainbow baby" LJ
into the world. LJ is now 5 has autism
and is thriving. He plays the drums just
like his mom!
